Regie Gibson

Regie Gibson is the first ever Poet Laureate of Massachusetts, an honor bestowed on him in 2025 by Governor Maura Healey. He is also a songwriter, author, workshop facilitator, and educator who has toured and lectured all around the world and currently teaches at Clark University and Berklee College of Music. His work has been widely published in anthologies, magazines and journals such as The Iowa Review, Harvard Divinity Magazine, and Poetry Magazine. A former National Poetry Slam champion and Chicago Tribune "Artist of the Year," he has been featured on HBO's "Def Poetry Jam" and appeared in the New Line Cinema film "Love Jones," based largely on events in his life.
