Event Details
Join Opening Doors artists Pamela Means and Alastair Moock for an intimate, collaborative performance of "Race and Song: A Musical Conversation" at Next Stage Arts in Putney, VT.
Pamela Means has been compared to Tracy Chapman, Ani DiFranco, a cross between Suzanne Vega and Jimi Hendrix, and an heir to the legacy of Nina Simone. She's “one of the fiercest guitar players and politically-rooted musicians in the industry today" (Curve Magazine), who has worn a hole in two of her guitars with her "insanely brilliant" (Press Herald, Portland ME) playing and “stark, defiant songs.” (New York Times).
Alastair Moock is an award-winning singer-songwriter, GRAMMY-nominated family musician, social justice and songwriting educator, and co-founder of The Opening Doors Project. The Boston Globe calls Alastair “one of the town’s best and most adventurous songwriters.” The Washington Post says “every song is a gem.”
Next Stage Arts serves as a magnet for community connection and cultural exploration in southern Vermont, stimulating cultural engagement by creating opportunities for collaboration among audiences, artists, and educational & arts organizations.
