Event Details

In collaboration with Know Your Neighbor Woburn and Club Passim Folk Collective, Opening Doors presents a free concert and conversation with Pamela Means, Stephanie McKay, Lydia Harrell, Anand Nayak, and Alastair Moock at North Church Woburn.

Pamela Means is “one of the fiercest guitar players and politically-rooted musicians in the industry today" (Curve Magazine), who has worn a hole in two of her guitars with her "insanely brilliant" (Press Herald, Portland ME) playing and “stark, defiant songs.” (New York Times); Stephanie McKay is a singer-songwriter whose unique blend of folk, soul, and jazz has led her to collaborations with artists as diverse as Toshi Reagon, Roy Hargrove, and Mos Def; Lydia Harrell is a versatile vocalist, songwriter, actress, and Berklee College of Music professor who has sung with John Baptiste, The Boston Pops, and at the Apollo Theater; Anand Nayak is a multi-instrumentalist singer, songwriter, and GRAMMY-nominated producer who performs throughout the US and Canada; and Alastair Moock is co-founder of The Opening Doors Project and a singer-songwriter who has toured throughout the U.S., Europe, and Asia, sharing the stage with acts like Arlo Guthrie, Taj Mahal, Ramblin’ Jack Elliot, and Greg Brown. All five musicians are members of The Folk Collective, an inclusion and equity collaboration based out of Club Passim in Harvard Sq, which is graciously co-sponsoring this event.
